Is their a herbal topical that can decrease the inflammation in a popped splint .Arnica doesn't seem to be strong enough alone. She did this on her own in the paddock on left hind. She has gone through the standard treatment of bute and DMSO and wrapping with standing bandages.I was wondering if anyone had a better way. Thanks

In TCM, splints come under the heading of a "Bi" syndrome. Having to do with the bones.
Specific treatment is dependent on how old the injury is.

In the initial stages I would use an herbal poultice to reduce inflamation and pain and move the blood for the first 24-72 hours.

The second stage "Joint Relief Salve" would be applied to begin to warm the area increasing blood flow and helping to reduce inflamation and remove stasis for the next week to ten days

The Third stage would be to add a strong liniment like "Zheng Gu Shui" to the "Joint Relief Salve" under wraps for the next few weeks.

Additionally, daily laser, magnetic therapy (North Pole), will be effective. How effective will depend on how soon treatment was started after the injury.

I would also treat internally with herbal supplement "Supple Horse" for the next three months to address lower limb "Bi" problems. Homeopathic "Zeel" tablets 3 X daily for the next month will also be of assistance.
